Who looks after your information
Tranquil Bed & Furniture Factory (Pty) Ltd, 34 Andries Street, Wynberg, Sandton. Contact sales@tranquilfactories.co.za or WhatsApp +27 67 488 2005 about privacy, access, corrections, deletion requests or stopping marketing.
When you make an enquiry
We collect the name, email, phone number, delivery area, product, offer, quantity and requirements you submit so we can respond, negotiate your quote and arrange your order. Required contact fields are needed to process a bid. Images and optional notes should contain only information relevant to your furniture request. Your private bid or quote link and access code should be kept confidential.
Optional visitor analytics
We ask before measuring catalogue activity. If you allow it, we save a random 30-minute visit identifier, the products whose images or bid forms you open, WhatsApp handoffs, approximate country, region and city when supplied by our hosting provider, device category and a broad source such as Facebook or WhatsApp. If you submit a bid during that visit, we can connect its activity to your enquiry. This helps us improve the catalogue and respond to customer interest.
This analytics feature does not store raw IP addresses, exact GPS coordinates, complete browsing addresses, search text, keystrokes or screen recordings. It does not look up your name, phone or social profiles from your IP address. Network location is approximate and may be unavailable or inaccurate. Analytics does not determine your price.
You can decline and still browse or bid. Use “Analytics preferences” in the catalogue to change your choice. Turning analytics off deletes activity for the current visit and removes its link to your bids; it does not cancel an order. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. The preference is stored on your device for up to 90 days. Activity covers a rolling 30-day window; older activity is cleared on the next analytics or report request. Private quotes, payment pages and admin screens are not included in catalogue analytics.
Offers and promotional messages
Email and WhatsApp promotions each have an optional, unticked choice in the bid form. We record your choices, their wording and the time. Submitting a bid or allowing analytics is not an opt-in to promotions. Use “Stop promotional messages” on your private bid-status page to turn off promotions for bids registered under that email, or contact us. Necessary updates about a bid or order can continue.
Access, providers and retention
Visitor reports and customer enquiry details are restricted to Tranquil’s authorised admin team. We use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare to host and store site data, and our WordPress/WooCommerce integration to process bid notifications and orders. PayFast processes payment details on its payment pages. Choosing WhatsApp also sends your prepared message through WhatsApp when you press Send there. These providers may process information outside South Africa under their applicable terms and safeguards.
Bid, quotation, payment and consent records are kept separately from temporary analytics as needed for the enquiry, order administration and applicable record-keeping obligations. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or an objection; we may need to verify your identity and explain any records that must be retained. You can also raise a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
